Anxiety Therapy
Is anxiety running your life instead of you?
Maybe you’re skipping activities that you used to enjoy or perhaps your loved ones say they’re fed up with you blowing them off. You may be struggling to meet deadlines or get things done at work or simply even giving up on trying because you’re so paralyzed and worried about your anxiety getting in the way. Perhaps you’re feeling like you’ll never get a handle on your worry.
Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in many different ways that negatively affect your life:
Constant worry and fear lead to difficulty concentrating or enjoying the present moment.
Physical symptoms - Headaches, stomach issues, muscle tension, or fatigue.
Sleep disturbances - Insomnia or trouble staying asleep due to racing thoughts.
Avoidance behaviors – Avoiding social situations, work responsibilities, or daily activities out of fear or panic.
Difficulty concentrating – Trouble focusing or staying on task due to anxious thoughts.
Strained relationships – Increased irritability, mood swings, or withdrawal from loved ones.
Work or school challenges – Missed deadlines, lack of productivity, or absenteeism.
Decreased self-confidence – Feeling overwhelmed or incapable of handling normal life challenges.
Panic attacks – Sudden episodes of intense fear that can feel debilitating.
Health issues – Long-term stress leading to high blood pressure, weakened immune system, or other health complications.
Anxiety therapy can help.
It may feel impossible now, but you can live a life where you — not your anxiety — are in control. You can find joy in the unknown and get control over your worries.
Anxiety therapy helps you do 3 things:
Identify the root of your anxiety
Learn what keeps driving your anxiety or making it worse
Develop the skills to prevent worry from getting out of control and cope with those fearful feelings if they do happen, so you can trust in your ability to handle life’s uncertainties and feel better
I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to anxiety therapy comes from a place of knowledge and of hope: believing that it’s not your fault you feel this way and that you can get to a place where you’re in control.
Feeling paralyzed by fear and worry, and out of control don’t have to be your story. I can help.

We will spend time talking about and exploring how past experiences and your current situation impact your beliefs about yourself, others, and the world, as well as whether those beliefs are effective or ineffective for you. Also, I will teach you tools and help you to practice skills to develop more effective beliefs and to manage your physical and mental symptoms of anxiety, inside and outside of session. I will usually assign you a skill (or skills) to practice outside of session.

To treat anxiety, I use evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and change negative thought patterns, Mindfulness-Based Therapy to cultivate present-moment awareness and reduce anxious feelings, and Exposure Therapy to gradually confront fears in a safe, controlled way. These approaches provide practical tools to manage anxiety, build resilience, and regain a sense of calm and control.

It depends. I know, I would love to have an exact answer for you, but it really depends on your individual needs and how much work you’re able to do outside of session (e.g., practicing skills learned in session), as well as what feeling better looks like for you. Ultimately, I am here for you and want you to thrive, so I’m not going to rush you through therapy but neither will I keep you coming to therapy when you don’t need to be.

Our first therapy session typically involves an assessment where I will gather information about your symptoms, medical history, and any challenges faced. I will go over any anxiety-specific assessments I send with your intake paperwork at that session, along with assessments related to commonly co-occurring issues (e.g., depression, trauma), so that we can create a tailored treatment plan for you.

While I cannot guarantee any particular outcomes in therapy, I can say that I have had much success in helping people struggling with anxiety to feel better and anxiety is an area where I have expertise. I can also tell you that people who are most successful are those who attend regularly, are curious and open to learning about themselves/receiving feedback, and who implement the strategies and skills learned in session outside of sessions.

Reach out to schedule a free consultation. You and I will chat a bit about your situation, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what your specific struggles are, along with what your goals are for therapy. I’ll answer any questions you have about me and/or my approach to working with anxiety, and together, we will decide if I’m the right therapist for you. If we are, we’ll schedule your initial intake session and go from there.
